The National Symphony Orchestra of Romania has had quite a history! In 2008 famed Romanian cellist Marin Cazacu founded the Romanian Youth Orchestra that became internationally famous in Europe and in the next three years the Romanian Sinfonietta Orchestra and Junior Orchestra, altogether formed the most important educational program in music orchestra in Romania named The National Romanian Youth Orchestras.
The first alumni generation of this project wished to continue to be part of the project thus forming the National Symphony Orchestra of Romania, known as the best team of young Romanian musicians.
The orchestra has performed at the greatest concert halls around the world in Europe (Germany, France, Italy, Bulgaria), Moldova and Switzerland and performed with leading musicians including (Pinchas Zukerman, Cristian Macelaru, David Garrett, Sarah Chang, Cristian Mandeal, etc).
The National Symphony Orchestra of Romania is also the first Romanian symphonic orchestra that was featured on CDs
produced by famous labels such as Genuine (Lauda Concertata with the Wave Marimba Quartett – conductor Cristian Mandeal) and Larghetto (double CD with music composed and conducted by film-music legend Vladimir Cosma). In late 2018 the National Symphony Orchestra of Romania will debut on Sony with a spectacular project along with famous percussionist Christoph Citizen.
Now, as the National Symphony Orchestra of Romania, the orchestra is tasked with the cultural mission to spread the greatest musical pride of their country.
